November prayer letter

We are HERE in America. We are enjoying the cleanliness, the great roads, Christian friends and family, and we did vote.  May God bless our country.

News gets old so fast - sorry.  Our trip from San Pedro to Abidjan was moved ahead four days, causing a whirlwind of packing and closing up the house. The government said that we were to have Covid testing, which was done only in Abidjan ($100 each for 10 people) and needed three days to get the results. We (our family together with Nathan and Hannah, Daniel and Azariah) were able to get a 60-passenger bus to come pick up us and our luggage at 8 a.m. and deliver us to our destination in Abidjan at 8 p.m.  We were actually thankful that God had overridden our original plans to be delivered directly to the airport.  Imagine the tiredness and stress of having an international flight after a long African road trip?

We were NOT looking forward to having the test and had heard many negative stories about how this was to be done. I was praying that God would work on our behalf. At the testing site at 8 a.m. Monday morning, praise God that we were assured emphatically that travelers to America did NOT need the test, and we were free to leave NOW.  We could hardly believe this wonderful news.  Off we went to celebrate our savings and praising God for three days of "down time" in Abidjan before our flight Wednesday night.

Besides wearing masks, our flight of many connections and much luggage went smoothly UNTIL we arrived in Chicago on Thursday night.  Our last flight, which WAS to have put us in Charlotte Friday morning (actually the middle of the night), had been canceled. The airline put us in a nice hotel with lots of food vouchers.  The weary travelers were again celebrating with a nice place to sleep and lots of delicious food.  What a great trip.

We have now seen all our family and have participated in two missionary conferences. The harvest is very white unto harvest.  Thank you for your prayers!!

Thank you for your faithful prayers!  Please continue to pray for us.  May God continue to bless you.

In His grip,

Dan and Joan
